  1. One of my most embarrassing moments in my life (ERNESTO GONZALEZ,of group 23) was when I went on a trip with nine university classmates to Puerto Plata. We went in September 2006. At the beginning of the day it was cloudy and warm.
My friends and I were drinking a lot of mojitos, daikiris and many other kinds of licours. We couldn’t sightsee any places because it was a rainy afternoon. After a few hours drinking we decided to go for dinner and first we went to our rooms to change our clothes. We had arranged to meet at the swimming-pool bar.
I thought that I was the first one but I saw two friends already standing and drinking at the bar. All of the tables were taken by tourists. The floor outside was wet and I was wearing flip-flops. Suddenly, my right foot was slippering like stepping on a skin and I felt completely on the floor. Quickly I stood up and I saw that no foreign tried to help me and not even laughed.
All people kept talking but I could see my two friends laughing out loud. Even now, these friends and I remember it sometimes and we still keep laughing.

  2. Q: What do you remember about the house you lived in as a child?

I had absolutely no idea that I would miss a house as much as the one where I lived in as a child. This house was in a quiet street of Alzira, where there wasn’t much traffic, so one of my happiest memories is myself playing in the middle of the street with some friends, without worrying about cars or about the time.

The house had three floors: the ground floor with the kitchen, the living room and the bathroom; the first floor with the bedrooms, and the second floor with a huge terrace, where I remember that my cat used to sleep (she was my first pet!).

Then, when I was five, my father got a job in Canals and we moved there, but even now, I remember that house as if I still lived there.

  3. My most unconfortable moment of my life was probable on a beatiful Sunday of Easter.

I went to caught my car. I sat down and checked the mirrows. I put on my seat belt. Then I put the key and started the engine. After that when I was driving home from a cottage fon lunch with a group of friends, I saw smoke coming from the hood of my car. Few seconds later, there was more and more smoke.
Firstly it was white, secondly it was black..., and finally there were flames. So I had to call 112, and the fire truck arrived in a few minutes.

They ( the firemen) evited people who were around.
There were many people watching me, taking photos, taking a video. And my car was burning. I'm not a show! - I thought.
I had ants in my pants, in that moment!

Finally the firemen, put out my car, but the car had been totally burned.

Now I'm driving a new car.

  4. What is your happiest memory?

One of my happiest memories is when I got my driving licence four years ago.
It was a sunny day, I was really nervous and I was sweating all the time. Moreover, I hadn’t slept much the night before thinking of the exam.
It was the third time that I took for the exam and as the saying goes; the third time lucky and therefore I passed the exam. Before that, was very difficult to get the documents to do the exam because the doctor of my town saw me unable to drive a car due to my illness. The next thing that we did was to go to a medical board in Valencia and they checked that I am capable to drive a car. Now, I am very happy because I don’t have to depend on anyone to take me anywhere. In addition, I take my mother to do the shopping, my grandparents to the doctor, even when I go on holiday with my family, my father and I drive and he isn´t so tired, among other things.
For me, the car is my legs and I am proud to be able to help my family too.

  5. Can you remember a time when you felt very proud?

One of time that I felt proud was last Wednesday. It was a calm morning and I was working when a partner asked me if I knew English. Suddenly, a man from Pakistan come to my office. He didn’t speak Spanish only English and he needed help because He was lost. The Pakistan man wanted to go to “Castelló de la Plana” and he had arrived to “Castelló de la Ribera” my little town. So, I had to explain in English, the way to go to Castelló de la Plana. It was complicated to explain, because he arrived to my town by subway, but really he needed to travel by train. I switched on the computer and I clicked on the Google maps icon and I printed a map to go a Castelló by train. Finally, I did! I explained all the way to arrive to his destination! I spoke in English and he understood me, all that I said, even we talked about his job and what was he doing here. I felt very proud about myself because I could help him and especially because he understood my English!!!!

  6. What is your happiest memory?

One of the happiest moments of my life was when I travelled with my partner to Germany and Austria.
We flew from Valencia to Munich, the Bavaria capital, over the snowy Swiss Alps. Munich is beautiful and quite green, and we tasted all the delicious beers, walking through the narrow streets and admiring the flowered balconies. After we left Munich, we visited other little and beautiful towns near Alps. And in the border between Germany and Austria, we arrived to Neuschwanstein, the most wonderful castle I’ve even seen, which appears on films and puzzles.
Next day, we went to Innsbruck, the Tyrolean capital in Austria, where we visited the famous Golden Roof, the Ski Jump of the Olympic Winter Games and the old house of the authentic Trapp family, from the famous film “The Sound of Music”. All the towns in Alps are fantastic, I would like to live in those mountains!
Finally, we ended our trip in Salzburg, the Mozart city. There we enjoyed the famous Mirabel gardens, the Cathedral, the castle and Mozart birthplace.
Also, during all the travel we had the good luck to be guided by an experimented Spanish professor of the Vienna University.

  7. Some of the most memorable moments in my childhood were my summer holidays.

All years, from I was three to I was eight, my family and I travelled for a month. We went camping on the beach for fifteen days and the rest of the month we went to Pyrenees Mountains.
On the beach I used to play with the sand and waves. I tasted delicious ice-creams and I met a lot of foreign people. My sister and I invented a language, we liked that people thought we were foreign. Then I began to be interested in languages. I really enjoyed this time with my sister and the others children.
In the mountains I could see wonderful views, cows, wild horses, wild goats, and very interesting towns... We used to walk around the mountain and we used to take a lot of photos. Nowadays when I feel a little depressed I look these photos and I feel better.
Maybe, this is the happiest moment of my life.

  8. WHAT'S THE MOST SCARIEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO YOU?

The scariest thing that ever happened to me was a year ago. My friends and I were going to my town's disco, which is located in the suburbs. Then, four of us decided to leave the group and wait on the sidewalk. It was a dark night and the road was empty. Suddenly, we saw a car approaching. First, we thought that was my friend's boyfriend, so we went to say him hello. But when we were next to the car we realized it wasn't his car. Then, the man in the car put the lights on and started to laugh. We tried to go back but he followed us. We were really scared, so we started to run and hid in an alley. We didn't know what to do, but my friend phoned his boyfriend and asked him to come and to bring the others. We became more and more nervous because we were only four people, but the car didn't appear again- we just saw the lights in the distance. Finally, our friends arrived and we went with them to the disco. Fortunately, nothing bad happened to us, but even now, when I remember that night, I'm scared of the man's car "joke".

  9. Q: What is the funniest thing that has ever happened to you?
It is when I was sixteen and I went to Ireland for the first time to spend a month in a family host. My English wasn´t quite good and I was very nervous with the new experience.
However, two days before my travel, I realized that my father had booked the flight for Friday and I was expected to arrive for my family host on Sunday. So, I called my family host and told them my problem. But they had the house full of students until Sunday, so that they decided to book me a room in a Bed and Breakfast in the city. I was very scared with idea of spend the whole weekend alone in Dublin when I arrived to the B&B. But unexpectedly, when I came in to my room I met a Colombian girl who spoke Spanish and was visiting the city alone. So finally, I join her all the weekend.

  10. One of my happiest memories is of one night in a mexican disco. I went with one of my bests friends to Rivera Maya two years ago.It was in November,so in Spain was winter time, actually also in Mexico, but there was 29º!
One night, we went to a disco with some people to the hotel. It is called ‘Cocobongo’.It is one of the most amazing, funniest and most surprising places that I have ever been.It takes places in a enormous theatre in Playa del Carmen. However, it wasn’t a disco as we know in Spain. They made musical shows every fourty minutes.Their performance was based on several films and singers,as ‘The Mask’, Michael Jackson, Spiderman,Moulin Rouge..While Beetlejuice’s show, Beetlejuice took me to the stage, then I took part in the show! It was absolutely fascinating. They made acrobatic shows as well, hanging from the ceiling with beatiful fabrics. Several times, they surprised people by dropping a lot of balloons or confetti.
Fun was in the air.All the people looked happy. It didn’t mind if they came from Italy,France,USA, Canada or Mexico. It seemed like all of us were having a really good time.
I strongly recommend this place to anyone who is planning to go to Mexico and wants to have some fun.

  11. WHAT'S THE MOST EMBARRASSING THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO YOU?

One of the most embarrassing moments of my life took place around 3 years ago during the first weekend of the Easter.
I was on my holidays in a hotel near the beach with a friend and it was 10 in the morning. We had just woken up when we started to feel starving so we went down to the breakfast buffet. After a great meal, we decided to take a walk on the beach, so I stood up and I was running directly toward the door when I crashed into it. I realized that the wall and door was made of glass and I had tried to push open the wall, not the door. Everybody in the room was looking at me and I turned red and ran away.
It was too embarrassing so the next morning I had my breakfast outside of the hotel even though it was paid.

  12. What is your happiest memory?

One of my happiest memories is when I was studying my degree in Economics.
In 2003 I started my degree in Economics at the University of Valencia. I was living with my three friends in a flat in Valencia the first year to the degree. We lived in a little flat in the neighbourhood of Ayora, near to the University. We had a great time together and laugh all day!! It was funniest!! The second year of university one of us decided to choose another degree and we had to find a new roommate but it was not any problem. We still were having a great time together!!! The third year we had to find another flat. This was further from the university and we had to catch the tram to go to the class but it did not matter to us because we always together to the class and you always had someone to talk The best moment was when we got the diploma of the degree. It was wonderful years.

We were hot and sweaty by the time we arrived to La Font Amarga. We had lunch there and when we finished, we went for a walk through the mountain. My friend Rosana shouted while we were walking because Laia had found a dog. In this moment, we were happy because Rosana wants a dog since she was a child but her mum didn't want. Rosana said us that she take away the dog to her home because of her mum feels sorry, she'll wants that the dog stay in her home. Finally, we came back to our homes very happies, we had a wonderful day.

  14. When I was a child, I remember that I used to play with the ball, go by bicycle and enjoy with my friends all the time.
The strongest memories of my childhood are in the summer, when we wouldn't go to the school and we would spend a lot of time in the street...
Sara, my best friend, always used to come to my house with her bicycle, then she would aske me: shall we go to the river?
She sometimes would take a bag with her swimsuit and float.
I would take my bicycle and my bag, and we would go there.
In the countryside used to live our friend Marc with his family, his grandfather would come with us to the river.
All of us would enjoy the whole day together.

  15. One of the happiest moments in my life was when I travelled for work to Beijing for 2 weeks.
I was working in a private company when my boss decided that I had to fly to Beijing for 2 weeks. At first, I wasn't so happy and I hated the flight, I scared the take off!. Moreover, I didn't know if my english would be enough to understand chinese people. However, these weeks were one of my happiest moments in my life.
I flew from Madrid to Stuttgart, then to Beijing. The flight was very confortable because I flew in first class. I had an arm-chair with remote control and I could move it to different positions. Moreover, I could drink and eat that I wanted for free.
When I arrived to Beijing, a car driver was waiting for me in a limousine. It was black and the seats were brown leather. While I was arriving to the hotel, I could see thru the car windows the poorness in some neighborhoods. Beijing is very big and there are a big difference between social class. Another thing that I realized is the driving way, there is no rules!!!.
The hotel was wonderful, I think It is the best hotel I've ever been!. The room was like a small house, with wifi access, LED TV, bathrobe, sleepers, etc... The people were friendly but they spoke little english!!. I felt very trusting and I could speak with them.
I visited the most important sights of Beijing: the forbidden city, Tian'anmen square, The great wall, Ming tombs and the Summer Palace. I think I will go again to Beijing with my family to see this wonderful country.

The most funniest moment was one day when we went at the beach. My grandmother was wearing flip-flops and she was very happy during all the week because she liked them a lot due to they were very comfortable. However, she was all the morning complaining due to she had a pain on her feet. When we arrived to the tent I realized that she was wearing the right flip-flop on the left and the left flip-flop on the right and she seem very funny. 18. What's the most funniest/scariest thing that has ever happened to me?

One of the most scariest and funniest thing that has ever happened to me in my whole life was with my friends in my country house all saints night.
It all started the night that we were all together at my country house to spend the night. We wanted it to be a girl's night, so we didn't invite and we told stories of fear. while we were eating dinner I remembered that the village cementery was about 50 meters from the country house, so my friends thought it would make the stories more real. When at midnight, in the middle of a horror story, we heard noises around the house. When we went to see, we saw a pair of shadows that they ran freely throug the trees of my country house and they were throwing fireworks.
At first we were terrified but then we heard the laugther and in one of the flashes of the fireworks we realised that the boys were spending us a joke.

  19. Q: What’s the most embarasing thing that has ever happened to you?

One of the most embarrasing moments that I remember was an evening, some years ago, when I descended through the street where I live and a neighbour, who was sat at the door of his house, said to me: “Dear, where do you go?”. I remember that I get a bit surprised and I thought that he was taking liberties (“Dear?”) because I almost didn’t know him, but I didn’t want too much unkind and I answer him “I’m going to look for my car”. He said “Ok, very well…, and you? Where do you go?” and he looked behind me. In this moment, I turned the head and I ended up so shocked that I continued my way without looking the man another time… my neighbour’s grand-daughter came just behind me and, obviously, the first question had been for her not for me!!

  20. One of the funniest things that happen to me was when we went on holiday to Salamanca by train. We bought the tickets from Valencia to Salamanca, but we had to change of train in Madrid. When we arrived to Madrid we went to see the train departure time and the platform number for Salamanca . The train went out in half an hour and we went to the platform. We had been waiting for ten minutes, when we realized that nobody, no train arrived there, how strange! We went to ask the information desk, the time and the platform were correct. We returned to the platform but it didn’t arrive any train, and on the platform we were just us. We went again to the information desk and the man of customer service said that the time and the platform number we had, they were correct. He also told us that the train had just arrived at Atocha station , but we couldn’t take it because we didn’t have enough time, we were in Chamartin station.

  22. My childhood
I was born in 1970 in La Pobla de Duc. La Pobla is a small, peaceful and well-coming village near Xàtiva. It has got 2500 inhabitants. I spent my childhood there.
When I was about five years old, streets were made of sand. Then there weren’t too many cars and children played in the streets a lot. Our favourite days were the rainy days because the mud filled up the streets after the rain. When it stopped raining, we went to play and got home dirty and tired. Years later, the authorities put asphalt in the streets.
The ancient houses in La Pobla were big and cold with enormous patios in its back and dark and wet cellars in its underground.
My grandmother had got a house of this type. My friends and I went to play to my grandmother’s house. We ran from the cellar to the patio. The cellar was our secret place because nobody used to go there.
In the summer, nobody went on holiday since everybody was poorer than now and they needed to collect grapes. There were grape fields in La Pobla moreover it made wine. The friends spent the holiday in the swimming pool and walking around the village by bicycle.
